Evaluating the Blogging Challenge Image Credit: flickr ![]() Q: What is/are the most interesting challenge(s) for you? A: The most interesting challenges were the free choice and the visiting others ones. I picked these because you can choose any topic for your free choice post. Visiting others’ posts was also quite a challenge because you had to pick 3 or more blogs to comment on. Image credit: images.clipartpanda.com
Some Science with JoriPhoto Credit: flickr WARNING: If you have Ophiophobia, or fear of snakes, don't look at the picture too much. Photo Credit: flickr Everyone knows that Science is a systematic and logical approach to discovering how things in the universe work. But do you know what are different branches of Science?
It is divided into three major groups;
Zoology is the study of animals. Here is the reason why I love Zoology. People don’t really respect animals that much, Like they harm endangered species. Therefore I want to learn what the animals need, how do they live, and what are their habitats. Learning every single thing about animals can save them and one of that information is knowing about classification of animals which tells if an animal is without back bone or with back bone and if with back bone, an animal is a reptile, amphibian, fish, bird, or a mammal. It is also split into different levels like Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Suborder, Family, Genus, and Species. These things classify an organism. For example if I look for Western Diamondback Rattlesnake or scientific name: Crotalus Atrox, its Kingdom is Animalia, Phylum is Chordata, Class is Reptilia, Order is Squamata, Suborder is Seprentes, Family is Viperidae, Genus is Crotalus, and Species is C. Atrox. I also love to learn about anatomy and my favorite part of Anatomy is the Skeletal System. It is so fascinating for me to look at the bones’ shape and sizes and how they work together to shape the organism. What about you? Are you interested in Science, if so, which branch and why? Link: http://shawbra.edublogs.org/ My favorite post of him is about Ferdinand Magellan. Link: http://shawbra.edublogs.org/2017/11/21/ferdinand-magellan/. You are probably wondering why it is my favorite. It’s because Ferdinand is a person who spread Christianity throughout Philippines. Making art
I like art. It is my ONLY talent that I have. I say I am great at art. I use the traditional way of drawing, not digital, but drawing with real materials with your own two hands. I use oil pastels, charcoal pencils, HB-EE pencils, and paint. Watching YouTube Watching YouTube is really fun for me. I mostly watch Minecraft, because I like Minecraft. I also watch some random stuff in there. Listening to music I like listening to music while doing homework. Music always keeps me awake, because I am always sleepy while doing it. It keeps my energy level high when I am listening to good music. Playing with friends I like playing with my friends because in the Philippines I always do that. But in Thailand everything is different, my friends are not here, so some of my classmates just play with me. After I arrived in this place I always feel lonely, because I miss my friends there. Doing errands almost 10 times in a row My parents always give me errands to do. Like every single day, yes it’s every single day, my parents just call me like, “Jori!!!” then I just go to them and they tell me to buy something, hang the clothes after being washed, or get something from my parents’ friend’s house. Philippine Monkey-eating Eagle Inspired by Lily’s post about endangered species Link here: Link Image Credit: flickr Philippines Monkey-eating Eagle or known as the Philippine Great Eagle is an endangered species of birds in the Philippines. It only lives in the Philippines. This species is currently critically endangered. The cause of it being endangered is due to deforestation of its habitats.
This bird preys on monkeys like what the name says, bats, lemurs, civets, squirrels, and macaques. Also other birds, and even snakes and lizards. About Commenting Q: What have you enjoyed about commenting?
A: I love it when I read the comments and appreciate what people wrote. Q: What is annoying about commenting? A: The annoying thing is that people just don’t make long comments. Like one time Garrett just commented, “Nice post dude!” I know there is this word dude that I also sometimes use, but it doesn't explain, in what ways my post is nice. Also that people don’t spell words correctly. Q: How have you found interesting posts to comment on? A: I just read post titles that sound interesting for me to read and see. Q: Are your posts getting a lot of quality comments? Why or why not? A: I don’t get that many comments on my posts. I think I got short comments like 2-3 times which are on my artwork posts. The long comments are the ones on my posts about the world issues. Anyways, I still appreciate for what they said. Image Credit: flickr Nook’s post: Link
Why are French Fries called French Fries? This post is a very interesting post. I really used to wonder why French fries are called 'French' Fries. I admit that I didn't do my research about it to find out the truth may be because I am a lazy person, or that I am a forgetful person. I really get excited to do my research about things but the next moment it's gone. Kayden’s post: Link My favorite subjects This post is awesome because most of Kayden's favorite subjects are connected to music. Well, in my opinion, anything that is art. dance, music, drawing etc. is connected to music. In my comment to her post, I told her how long I have been practicing art. She advised me to draw in school whenever I have free time. And that's what I do now. Charlie’s post: Link If I was the school principal I like Charlie’s post because I agree with his recommendation of giving less homework per week. He says that the higher grade level you go the more homework you have, and the more homework you have the lesser sleep you get, and having less sleep is very bad for young kids. So school should change their policy of giving homework to children to no homework. Water
This short video is all about the resource water and what should we do when we use it. Like conserving it. I hope you like this post and enjoy the video!
